Ory Family History |

This site is a brief look into the history of two Ory immigrants. From what is now French Alsace to America, Francois Ory and his great, great, grandson, Francois Sebastien Ory, made the harrowing, dangerous trip 108 years apart. Francois Ory arrived in 1736 at Philadelphia and Francois Sebastien Ory arrived in 1844 at New York.
Francois Ory and second wife, Anne Marie Perchi, settled in Pennsylvania, raising their children and farming.
Their family endured the hardships of many immigrants to Amerca; Revolutionary War and Civil War and the battles with native American Indians.
Francois Sebastien Ory made the trip without a family. Arriving in June of 1844, he traveled to Lisle Township, Illinois, near Chicago, married Marie Josephine Dorr in August, purchased land the day he married and started family and farming. |
